Pride is one of those strange vices: it only attacks us when we are doing the right thing. When we are doing wrong, there’s nothing to be proud of.
Our culture has made friends with pride. We are proud about everything. And, if ever we’re not proud we must find a way to become proud.
Pride separates us from God
We become self-made and stop considering the One Who made us. And our arrogance becomes our undoing. We grow reckless in how we approach God. And all the good we might have done in life is thrown away in an instant.
How do you approach the Holy One? Do you approach recklessly? Or do you truly recognize His holiness?
Don’t be indifferent towards God. Rather, consider His holiness and don’t get to big for yourself. The Lord has given us an example of recklessness and one of humility. Which do you choose?
